Eighty years ago, in the small village of Liebenstein (present-day Libá in the Czech Republic), Ernest Feiler`s passion and courage to inherit and develop traditional craftsmanship led to him combining his original, graceful patterns with ladies` wash cloths to produce an elevated art form. Turning this endeavor into his life`s ambition, he created a magnificent woven fabric: the much loved Chenille. Unlike the rigid and straight threads used in ordinary towels, the Chenille approach is unique in its soft, spherical and rounded texture. Pure cotton yarn combined with extreme colorfast vat dyes and natural spring water make for a sumptuously soft texture, and its unusually rapid absorption properties provide practical value as well. Coupled with elegant and sumptuous design, a second layer of flower petals is woven into the fabric. All the while meticulous checks are performed at every stage of the production process to ensure a fabric of the highest quality. FEILER Chenille fabric`s birthplace is located at high latitudes, where the winters are long and cold, and the people there long for the warmth of spring. In the winter months, the wonderful floral patterns are woven into the wash cloth, exemplifying the spirit of the FEILER brand: richness, love and life. |
